Tech X 300 Copenhagen – A Review

Official Shirt of Tech X 300 2023

VMUG Denmark has set new standards for regional VMUG meetings with the Tech X 300. I do say this as a VMUG Leader and with great recognition.

  • 2 Days
  • 3 Keynotes
  • 36 Sessions
  • 27 Speakers
  • Attendees from 17 countries

My Danish colleagues put on an exceptionally good event that is on par with a UserCon.

Over two days from 20.9. to 21.9. in the beautiful cinema Nordisk Film Biografer Palads, technically in-depth presentations around VMare topics were presented in two concurrent sessions each. In between there was enough room for discussions with speakers, sponsors and other participants who came from 17 countries. The presentations were well selected, which was not surprising given the speaker list. I wish I could have seen all of them.

I myself had the pleasure to open the first day with my session. I was scheduled for the Timeslot-of-Doom concurrently with Frank Denneman. “Hold my beer…” 🙂

Welcome to the timeslot of doom… 😉

The cinema hall was nonetheless well attended and the numerous questions in the Q&A section suggested that the topic was particularly well received. Many thanks for the positive response in the conversations afterwards.

But the non-technical presentations were also truly exciting. Particularly impressive was the final talk by Thor Pedersen entitled “Once upon a Saga”. He traveled to all 203 countries on earth without using airplanes before he returned to Denmark again after 10 years.

Conclusion

The content was excellent. It’s a great idea to invite to a two-day technical event and have the courage to end each day with completely non-technical keynotes.

Many thanks to the team of VMUG Denmark. I was already positively impressed during my last visit in 2019, but you have raised the bar again with your latest event.

Thanks to the Community

Thanks for the opportunity to present here as well. Your feedback and the conversations we had were a true boost. No online event can replace the personal contact and the relaxed conversation over a cup of coffee. That’s what the community is all about.
